Let's Draw Leicester - 2017

All welcome to join the second Urban Sketchers Leicester unofficial group from 10.30am to 3.30pm for a sketchcrawl on 11th November 2017 visiting the cultural quarter, Leicester.

“It should be fun,” says organiser Emma Fitzpatrick, “because four cafes have agreed to let us sketch the buildings from inside.  It's also Leicester Arts Week so it should be good”.

The day is free of charge, no need to book, just turn up with your art materials. All welcome but you should be self sufficient and kids need to be looked after by adults.

If you fancy sketching indoors, several lovely cafe venues with large windows overlooking the buildings have kindly let the group draw inside including:

The Exchange - 50 Rutland Street, LE1 1RD

Manhattan34 (opens at 12pm) - 34 Rutland Street,  LE1 1RD

LCB Depot - 31 Rutland Street,  LE1 1RE (they may be busy though with art activities)

CURVE theatre - 60 Rutland Street,LE1 1SB - which includes lots of areas to draw, including the interior if you prefer.

The idea is to move from one to the other if you want. You don't have to buy anything at each venues but would be good if you could buy a coffee or something at one of the venues during the day or if their tables are getting filled and you've not bought anything, then gently move onto another venue :).

If you want to draw outside, bring a fold up stool and wrap up well!

Key times and meeting points for the day

10.30am - meet outside Curve Theatre  -  main entrance under canopy

12.45 - meet outside Curve Theatre   - main entrance to look at work (group photo).

Can decide on venue for lunch on the day for those interested.

3.30pm - meet outside the Curve Theatre -  to show work.

4.00pm - Meet for coffee or drink in The Exchange :)
