'Grown Up' games, designed by George Sfougaras between 2019 – 2021, combines research on team dynamics within medical settings, philosophical thought, psychological theory and depending on the players' viewpoints, even mild entertainment.  The games are upscaled and on display at the George Davies Centre of Medical Sciences, Leicester University.

The exhibition, commissioned by Leicester University and Attenborough Centre is named after the main piece in the series.  ‘Serious Game’ was created in collaboration with Dr Jennifer Jones who was undertaking research in team collaboration and mental health within the NHS. She was kind enough to share some of her research findings from PEARL (Patient Experience And Reflective Learning) to support the development of this staff wellbeing boardgame.  Other ‘games’ in the exhibition invite players to reflect their identity (‘New Life’); examining how their experiences can be processed (‘Big Game’); how memory processing is affected by cognitive decline (‘Remember’); how philosophy can be playful (‘Big Head’).

Completed in September 2016, the George Davies Centre represents a unique opportunity to bring together world-leading medical research and medical education under one roof and to produce doctors who are able to deliver high quality care in an effective and compassionate manner in a rapidly changing environment.
