Selected Art of Sport paintings and original prints on show in the foyer at the Y Theatre as part of the Lyric Lounge Festival programme. Seven days and seven night of performance poetry and spoken word celebrate the Special Olympics Summer Games in Leicester 2009. Evening events include performances by Jean Binta Breeze and John Hegley. Live literature sessions range from lyrical lunchtimes to book doctor surgeries and writing workshops including the LSA paintings and prints as inspiration for poets in Art in Motion: Art of Sport.

This is the moment before.
Tight as a mollusc in its shell,
dolphin thighs lever down
to feet suckered onto the block.
Her back arches like a surge
of flying fish, freeze framed.
Head hard as a limpet shell
arms loose and tense, they sense –
this is the moment before --- she is ----
ready.
