Course Tutor - Jemisha Maadhavji is a figurative painter who explores individuals from different cultural backgrounds, personalities and gender, through symbolism and narrative. Her subject matters are a result of a huge influence in bold colours and patterned fabric. Jemisha has exhibited her work across the country and has her own Attenborough Arts at Home kits all about oil painting.
Course Description - Oil painting is one of the oldest art forms and one that can take a lifetime to master. However, that can be a lot faster with an expert teacher – and that’s exactly what you have here.
This six-week course teaches you the key skills needed to use oil paints effectively such as colour mixing, how to use ‘mediums’ and painting techniques from incredible figurative painter, Jemisha Maadhavji. Each session will focus on building your skill set to have you confidently painting from either photographs or previous artist studies, with week 2 centred on drawing from a life model.
