Tutor - Scott Bridgwood

Always wanted to try life drawing but don’t feel fully confident? This is the workshop for you. This relaxed and supportive session is designed to help you explore tried and tested methods to render the life model in a variety of drawing media - perfect for beginners.

Within the workshop, following a group discussion about why life drawing is considered so difficult, we begin with a variety of short poses. Followed by techniques such as; gestural drawing, pivots, the picture plane, negative spaces, shape, shadow mapping, linkage and subtractive drawing amongst others. You will end the day with knowledge and confidence in how to draw the human form in a three dimensional and convincing manner, and the passion to continue your practice.

Scott Bridgwood - developed his specialisation in painting the figure in his BA in Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art. He worked in Rome for eight years as a mural and portrait artist and taught at the British Cultural Institute in Rome and is now a full-time professional artist and undertakes portrait commissions and divides his time between studios in Leicester and Cheshire.
