Mark Hancock was a figurative painter. He taught art to A Level and International Baccalaureate, and after completing an MA in 2009 he worked as an artist full time. He painted mostly in oils or pastels from his studio in Lutterworth.  He undertook a variety of commissions, including portraits of adults and children.

His portrait of the wonderful Latin and Greek ‘Greats’ ‘Professor Donald Russell at 98 was commissioned by St John’s College Oxford and is on display in the Ioannou Centre for Classical and Byzantine Studies, Oxford.

Mark Hancock died in 2021.
