My work starts as a creative response to the environment; this may take the form of either a drawing, collage or painting. Some of my work remains in its infancy. Often I am inspired to push the idea further and this is when reality is left behind and the imagination takes over. This usually takes the form of a textile piece of work. As the image develops, the use of stitch becomes totally intuitive. This I find is a particularly enjoyable stage, and I love the fact that I can work on it almost anywhere.
