Jill studied at the Manchester School of Art in the early 70’s. She then pursued a career in business management and on early retirement in 2012 was free to explore her passion for ceramics, oils, acrylic and graphite.
Jill’s background is in farming and her interests lie in natural landscape, nature and wildlife. She is inspired by trees and plants, their ability to regenerate and their sheer need to survive. The soil fascinates her, being the basis of everything that humans require to survive.
Jill works mainly in oils and acrylic and loves to explore different contemporary styles. She is always experimenting, pushing the boundaries in semi-abstract painting.
Her ceramics are naturalistic in style, covering owls, fox studies and peeling tree barks.
