Mandeep is an artist printmaker. Her practice revolves around producing original linocut prints - an engagement of a deep-dive exploration of observing natural light and colour transformations in landscape, directly influenced by having spent her formative years as a child in Kenya and migrating to England in her early teens.

Mandeep’s method of working up a print begins with an initial, loose plan of colour and composition taken from her plein air drawing studies. The print then evolves organically as layers are built up from light to dark or taking them down again from dark to light.

Mandeep intends to relay to the viewer the experience that she felt when immersed in nature, drawing - as if they could enter and wander through the botanical ‘landscapes’ in front of them, captured in simplicity in shape, form and textured foliage, feeling that sense of connection between their own inner and outer narrative caught in the gap of stillness.
