3 day course: 10am - 4pm

Learn to paint a visual feast in watercolour, portraying beautiful flowers, objects and patterned backgrounds.

Tutor:  Vivienne Cawson

Cost:  £240

Working together with Vivienne’s guidance, you will create a collaborative composition combining fabrics, patterned papers, vessels and flowers to design an exciting and visually stimulating still life. Vivienne will give you an insight into how she tackles such subjects in her own work; how to use your artistic and creative eye to select which aspects of the composition to highlight, in order to compose the best painting. Students will be encouraged to paint expressively, making every brush stroke count to capture the essence of the subject. Colour management, observation and watercolour techniques will be taught through exercises pertinent to the floral still life.

This course is suitable for all abilities.

What to bring;  Students are expected to bring their own watercolour brushes and paints. The tutor will supply a recommended list in advance of the course.

Materials fee: There will be an additional £5 materials fee to cover paper and other studio sundries. This is payable in cash directly to the tutor at the start of the course.
