Returning to Bankside Gallery for the second year, Jackson’s Art Prize presents a selection of the 2024 shortlist and prize-winners in painting, drawing, and printmaking. After receiving over 15,000 submissions from 117 countries, this exhibition presents a snapshot of contemporary ideas from around the world.
LSA Member, Jo McChesney is exhibiting a woodcut she has titled 'Willow'
“I carved this print directly following a trip to Japan where I studied the process of woodcut. Images of the water gardens in Kyoto were fresh in my mind. My ideas are directly inspired by nature. I was working on images of water and reflection and tranquility. I wanted to capture the reflected lurching shapes of the leaves on the moving waters surface.”
