Andrew Wynne, will hold an Abstract Batik Workshop for adults at Knighton Lane Artists' Studios in Leicester. The workshop is suitable for all levels of experience and emphasizes play and experimentation. Participants will explore the unique interactions of the wax resist, discharge, and dyeing processes on fabrics and paper. Learners will be taught all aspects of batik, including abstract composition, historical and multi-cultural traditions, contemporary practice, application of wax resists with kistkas, tjaps, and brushes, discharge with bleach and lemon juice and dyeing with potassium permanganate and procion dyes.
