Stoneware Vase - Ceramic
I began practising pottery over ten years ago in a workshop in my home country, Argentina. Experiencing the power of creating things with a material as noble as clay, transforming something amorphous into something alive, a single, long-lasting object with its own identity, it was both overwhelming and completely new for me. I still remember how much I treasured my first pieces.
In 2021 I moved to Leicester, where I continue to develop my practice while seeking new opportunities to learn, showcase my work, grow my network, and strengthen bonds within the local artist community.
In 2023 I had the honour of presenting one of my works at 'Open 23 | The People’s Exhibition' at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery. In January, I became part of the 2024 cohort of the Emerging Artist Programme, a project delivered by Charnwood Arts and funded by Arts Council England to support early-career artists. This nine-month program concluded with an exhibition featuring the work of all participants at Charnwood Arts. In June, I participated in Art House 2024, and throughout the year, I have been showcasing my work at various Art and Craft fairs in Loughborough.
My practice focuses on functional ceramics, and I work with both stoneware and earthenware. Through my pieces, I aim to bring art into everyday life, connecting art and people in their own places with simple and useful handmade objects such as jugs, mugs, teapots, bowls and vases.
