Christina Wigmore is a Leicester-based printmaker and mixed-media artist whose practice brings together printmaking, collage and textile processes to explore memory, place and material culture. Rooted in a DIY and punk ethos, her work embraces experimentation, reuse and reconstruction, transforming discarded and overlooked materials into layered visual narratives.

Drawing inspiration from Leicester’s rich textile heritage, Christina explores the emotional connections we form with objects, fabrics and the places we inhabit. Her work is particularly concerned with uncovering hidden histories and celebrating the lives, labour and experiences of women whose contributions have often gone unrecognised.

Through texture, repetition and the physical act of making, she brings fragments of the past into conversation with the present, allowing materials to carry their own stories.

"I'm interested in the stories that materials hold — the traces of people, places and everyday lives that might otherwise be forgotten. Through making, I want to give those fragments a new voice."

Her practice is both intuitive and investigative, combining a playful, experimental approach with an ongoing curiosity about the relationship between personal memory, collective history and the everyday.
