Emma Fitzpatrick is a contemporary Irish painter and printmaker now based in Ireland, after over twenty years in the UK, maintaining strong ties to Leicester. Her practice blends etching, monotype, and drypoint, with outdoor sketching being a key part of her process.
Her work draws inspiration from the remote landscapes of Ireland’s west coast, capturing dramatic weather, a primal sense of place, and remnants of human activity. Deliberate linework is set against fluid, painterly marks, reflecting a fragile balance between control and the unpredictability of nature.
Fitzpatrick has exhibited widely across the UK, including shows at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE), the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal West of England Academy, the Society of Women Artists, and Tarpey Gallery. She received an Arts Council England Develop Your Creative Practice grant in 2019 and has participated in residencies at Cill Rialaig, Co. Kerry, and Brisons Veor.
