Linda Williams is a mixed media artist whose work explores the interplay of light, colour and shadow, and their powerful connections to mood, memory and sensory experience.

Inspired by the ‘Play of Light’, Linda is fascinated by the extraordinary shapes and patterns created through shifting light and shade, from the dramatic and fleeting to the subtle and lingering. Her work reflects an enduring interest in how colour and light can evoke both universal emotions and deeply personal memories.

Themes of health and wellbeing, particularly memory, sensory perception and the psychology of colour, have been central to Linda’s artistic development and continue to influence her creative practice.

Linda graduated from De Montfort University with a BA (Hons) in Mixed Media Textile Design, achieving a 2:1 as a mature student. She previously studied at the London College of Fashion and has a background in children’s wear design. She has also completed City & Guilds Creative Embroidery Parts 1 and 2, exhibiting in group shows at Patchings, The City Gallery and New Walk Museum.

“I am fascinated by the play of light and the way colour and shadow can transform what we see, stir emotions and awaken memories. It is this ever-changing relationship between light, colour and perception that continues to inspire my work.”
