Liz Blyth is a contemporary craft artist and designer working with ceramics and mixed materials. Based in Leicester, she graduated from De Montfort University with a First Class BA (Hons) in Design Crafts, subsequently returning to spend a further year as Artist in Residence.

At the heart of Liz’s practice is a desire to create work with meaning. Through thoughtful making, she tells stories and crafts objects to be treasured, touched and held. Her pieces possess a quiet beauty and an understated emotional resonance, inviting a personal connection between object and observer.

“For me, making is about connection — to materials, to memories, to places and to the stories we carry with us.”

With a lifelong passion for art, craft and heritage, Liz has travelled extensively, developing a deep appreciation of different cultures and creative traditions. Her work draws inspiration from the art, objects and craftsmanship she has encountered across the world, as well as the rich heritage and everyday beauty found closer to home.

Liz has been represented by Mint Gallery, London, and her work has been exhibited at London Design Festival, with Mayfair Design District during Frieze Week and PAD at Savoir in Mayfair, and at New Designers. More recently, she has exhibited at Waterside Arts in Manchester, the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, and at venues across the Midlands.

In 2026, Liz received Highly Commended recognition in the international Homiens Art Prize. She is a graduate member of the Crafts Council UK and Design-Nation.
