I currently paint in my home studio overlooking the Leicestershire countryside and also regularly visit the Cornish coast for inspiration.
My dreamlike paintings are abstract and symbolic and are becoming more gesturally figurative the more I practice. My current works are responses to the season and the memories each place conjures up and the feelings they leave me with.
I use acrylic and oils on wood panels and canvas. I like to make the surface of my paintings almost edible and my process is a physical one; using music in the studio to dance with the energetic base layers experiencing the freedom and sitting still and calm for the focussed top layers, warmly enjoying the craft. I paint intuitively, choosing and mixing colours as I go.
