I am a mixed media artist creating intriguing decorative work that appears timeworn and reminiscent of archaeological finds or ancient relics. Having been brought up with a Make Do and Mend ethos I find I’m drawn to repurposing preloved materials from the past. I work with recycled papers and pulp, vintage textiles, organic fragments and found ephemera - embellishing them with a range of different techniques including paper casting or impressing, adding inclusions or stitching to create unique handmade pieces with a sense of history.
