Why not join the Leicester Urban Sketchers in and around Silver Arcade?

All are very welcome to join Urban Sketchers Leicester (unofficial) to draw in and around The Silver Arcade in Leicester's city centre.

2pm- Meet at the entrance facing onto Silver Street and High Street.

The group have permission to draw in Cafe Nero on High St (opposite the entrance), Doughnotts and Bryter Moon Deli within the arcade. We have been asked not to draw customers and to buy something.

4pm - Meet outside the entrance door to Bryter Moon Deli (within the arcade) to look at our work. Decide on the day if would like to go for coffee/ drink afterwards somewhere locally.

The arcade is a listed Victorian shopping centre and apparently one of only three in the county at four stories with an open atrium. Keep to the ground level as the other floors are not public spaces. Around it are The Lanes which give a good impression of what the layout and density of medieval Leicester streets was like (sadly not many medieval buildings left though).

Bring your own drawing materials, stool, warm clothes and provisions etc. It is a chance to meet people in the community, sketch, chat, share tips - beginners/ experienced all welcome.

Let the group know if you can make it by clicking on 'Going' on the Facebook page:

. . . .or simply pop by on the day

Organised by Emma Fitzpatrick and Austin Orwin
