Location:  Barefoot Orchard (opposite Pilkington Library by the Weather Station), Loughborough University Loughborough LE11 3TU
Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join artist Mita Solanky for a walk around Fruit Routes – an edible route of hundreds of fruit and nut trees and bushes on the Loughborough University campus.

Enjoy the fleeting pleasures of walking in the blossoming Fruit Routes orchards and guessing what fruit will come from each tree. Open up your senses and experience the sights and smells of spring in full flow. And share what our dream fruits would be over a special spring refreshments picnic.

This is the fourth in a series of walks that celebrate the seasons, inviting us to connect with nature through our senses in embodied ways.

The walk will start and end at the Barefoot Orchard, which is located next to the Paddock and (almost) opposite Pilkington Library. Look for the Fruit Routes information board near the Geography Weather Station.

This event is free, and everyone is welcome (students, staff, and the local community). Advance booking is recommended to help manage numbers and keep you informed of any changes to the event due to weather conditions. You will be walking along running routes and natural paths, so please wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather! Please bring your own picnic blanket or a cushion if you have one; there will be cover available in case the weather is unpredictable!

The next walk will take place on Friday, May 9, 2025. Look for details on the Fruit Routes website closer to the date.

You can book your tickets for 4th April using the link below.
